felicity: 2004 Cabernet Franc

Introducing the newest offering from Sodaro Estate Winery, a 2004 Cabernet Franc. Brilliant ruby red in color, blossoming with aromas of ripe raspberries and plums succeeded by a toasty oak. Silky and soft on the palate, this wine exudes elegance and balance with a soft tannin presence and a long finish. A big wine from a little vineyard.

Winemaker’s Notes: The Cab Franc

A parent of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Francs are quite rare in the states, due to being suited to colder climate regions, and becoming easily damaged by spring frosts. They are usually softer, less tannic and fruitier than the Cabernet Sauvignon. If you ever happen to get your hands on one, you will be richly rewarded.
