The Sodaro Estate Vineyard is located in the up and coming Coombsville AVA, just five miles east of downtown Napa. This area has a more moderate climate than much of Napa Valley due to its exposure to wind and fog from the San Pablo Bay. It is this unique climate that allows our grapes to ripen to full maturation without increasing average brix at harvest.
Extraordinarily diverse in exposure, elevation, and grade, the site of the Sodaro Vineyard was rigorously tested and evaluated by Dr. Paul Skinner (U.C. Davis) prior to planting and is managed by Michael Wolf and his world-class team every step of the way. The diversity inherent to the site has allowed for unique varietal complexity, with small blocks of the five traditional Bordeaux varietals and associated clones planted throughout making for an array of unique characteristics with which to blend.
The diversity of available fruit from this single vineyard is remarkable, as such variety is usually only possible from multiple vineyard sources.
