2009 Doti-Sodaro Cabernet Sauvignon

2009 Doti-Sodaro Cabernet Sauvignon

In the 2012 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition, which is the largest competition of American wines in the world, Doti-Sodaro Estate 2008 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon won the Gold Medal for wines $60 and over, and Wine Enthusiasts awarded the Doti-Sodaro 95 points.

The noted wine critic Robert Parker specifically alerted wine aficionados to the following text on the back label on every bottle of the most recent vintage: “For three decades, Donald Sodaro and Dr. Jim Doti have dedicated their friendship to the shared goal of elevating the standards of higher education. This year, we are proud to release our second vintage of the Doti-Sodaro Cabernet Sauvignon. Crafted from finest blocks of grapes in our vineyard, this wine reflects the passionate commitment of people dedicated to the vision of creating a truly distinctive and noble wine.”

The 2009 growing season was mild mannered in comparison to past recent years with little to no frost. Rainfall was well timed yet lighter than normal. Bloom and fruit set occurred in a relatively condensed time period which contributed to even ripeness and ample supply. Harvest was late and generous, yielding superb quality fruit in ideal condition.
